How to play an A7 chord on piano

In this lesson you’ll learn how to play every variation of a chord of A7 on piano, including its root position, first inversion and second inversion.

The notes required to play a chord of A7 on piano are as follows:

  • A
  • C#
  • E
  • G

For the standard root position in your right hand, start by placing your thumb on A. Put your second finger on the C#, and stretch your fourth up to the E. Finally, use your fifth (pinky) finger to play the remaining note, G.
