How to play a G7 chord on piano

In this lesson you’ll learn how to play every variation of a chord of G7 on piano, including its root position, first inversion and second inversion.

The notes required to play a chord of G7 on piano are as follows:

  • G
  • B
  • D
  • F

For the standard root position in your right hand, start by placing your thumb on G. Put your second finger on the B, and stretch your fourth up to the D. Finally, use your fifth (pinky) finger to play the remaining note, F.
